How many calories should you eat? What should you eat and when should you eat it? What supplements are best? What exercise is best for weight loss?
It’s time to remove the weight loss blinders so that you can start losing weight.
Focus on Being Healthy
The Coach Calorie philosophy is simple:
Focus on being healthy and the weight loss will follow.
Some people might read that quote and immediately dismiss it. They already think they’re eating healthy but they still can’t lose weight. Surely there’s more to it than a simple quote.
The problem is we get hyper focused on trying to treat the effect instead of getting to the root cause of weight gain.
Weight gain is a side effect of living an unhealthy lifestyle.
Weight loss is a side effect of living a healthy lifestyle.
Most people didn’t set out to gain all the extra weight they carry around on their bodies. Instead, the weight gain was a side effect of their lifestyle. It happened in the background as a side effect of their habits.
You didn’t track calories and purposely eat in a surplus. You didn’t plan to eat the foods that were calorically dense.
No. You lived your life based on a set of unconscious rules and habits.
That was the cause of the weight gain. That is what you have to reverse if you want to lose weight. You have to live your life based on a set of conscious rules and habits.
Ask the Important Question
There is one very important question that you should be asking yourself before you make any weight loss related decision.
Am I going to be healthier as a result of this action?
It seems so simple because it is. Yet so many people if they are honest with themselves will realize that the answer to that question more times than not is no.
I can promise you that if you ask yourself that question for the next 500 times and have 450 yeses that you are going to be a lighter version of your current self.
You are going to be healthier, happier, and your habits will have changed. Your body will transform from the inside out and your actions will manifest themselves into a different physique.
It might not happen the next day or the next week. I wish it were that simple – that if I do this today I will get this tomorrow. But that’s not the way it works.
You have to accumulate healthy habits. You have to collect them one by one. The more you own the more your life will change for the better.
The changes happen a little at a time. You might not notice them right away, but one day weeks or months down the road you will look in the mirror and say “I look pretty good, and I feel great too.”
Your body is a function of your lifestyle. Focus on being healthy and the weight loss will follow.
